Uzbekistan and Russia plan to increase trade turnover and accelerate the implementation of industrial projects
Uzbekistan and Russia have agreed to continue working on growing mutual trade turnover and accelerating joint projects in industrial zones. In addition, the parties intend to expand cooperation between regions and business representatives.
These topics were discussed at the meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Council of Regions of the two countries, which took place in Uzbekistan. Following the meetings, the positive dynamics of mutual trade were noted, as well as the progress of projects in industry, energy, metallurgy, peaceful atom, and other fields.
On October 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov, who arrived in the country to participate in the meetings of the commission and the Council of Regions.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the practical implementation of the agreements reached following the high-level meetings. Mirziyoyev also noted the results of the meetings held the day before.
Particular attention was paid to the need to take coordinated measures to further increase trade turnover, accelerate joint projects in industrial zones, and continue contacts at the level of regions and businesses of the two countries.
Earlier, Mirziyoyev and Putin discussed the development of bilateral cooperation and the results of the recent meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Council of Regions in Fergana during a telephone conversation.
