Uzbekistan and Hungary intend to increase cooperation in pharmaceuticals

Uzbekistan and Hungary discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, including attracting investment, introducing modern technologies, and launching joint projects. This was reported by the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry.

On September 8, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Uzbekistan, József Rózsa, held a meeting with the Director of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, Abdulla Azizov.

During the visit, the Hungarian diplomat got acquainted with the work of the Agency, the Pharmaceutical Technical University, and the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster. Industry representatives also spoke about the projects being implemented in the cluster and its plans for the future.

In addition, a separate meeting was held between the ambassador and students of the Abu Ali ibn Sino Specialized School. During the conversation, the schoolchildren shared their interest in science and spoke about their plans for the future.

The key topic of the negotiations was the further development of Uzbek-Hungarian cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector. The parties discussed opportunities for attracting investment, introducing modern technologies, and implementing joint projects.

Following the meeting, new opportunities were identified for the development of practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary in the pharmaceutical sector.

According to the provided data, at the end of 2025, Hungary's export of medicines and pharmaceutical products amounted to about 9.9 billion euros.
