Tashkent and Budapest intend to expand trade, develop joint projects, and create logistics hubs to enter the EU market.

Uzbekistan and Hungary Discuss New Investment Projects

Uzbekistan and Hungary have reviewed prospects for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation. These issues were discussed by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov and Ambassador of Hungary to the country József Rózsa.

The parties touched upon the growth of mutual trade turnover and the expansion of the range of exported and imported products.

Dual education, livestock farming, poultry farming, automotive manufacturing, and tourism were named among the most promising areas of cooperation. In addition, opportunities for interaction in the field of labor migration and cargo transport optimization, including the creation of railway hubs and the launch of regular block train routes, were considered.

The Hungarian side expressed interest in implementing projects in agriculture and water management, introducing modern banking IT systems, and creating regional IT hubs in Uzbekistan.

The possibility of establishing Uzbek logistics centers in Hungary to expand domestic companies' access to the European Union market was also discussed.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed, together with the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA), to attract leading Hungarian companies to participate in the international forum "New Uzbekistan: Crossroads of Global Markets."

Furthermore, it is planned to hold a business forum in Hungary in the first quarter of 2027.
