Uzbekistan and China are ramping up cooperation in the law enforcement sphere

Uzbekistan and China have agreed to continue implementing their joint roadmap and expand practical cooperation between law enforcement agencies. These agreements were reached during an official visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan to China.

The talks took place between the Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, and the Minister of Public Security of China, Wang Xiaohong.

The parties agreed to consistently implement the cooperation roadmap between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Public Security of China for 2026–2027. In addition, they discussed the further development of cooperation in the "Central Asia — China" format.

One of the key points of the negotiations was joint work to counter terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking, organized crime, and other types of transnational crime.

The parties paid special attention to the exchange of experience in the field of cybersecurity and digital forensics. The interlocutors also discussed expanding practical interaction between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.

The agenda of the talks also included the use of modern technologies in the activities of law enforcement agencies. In particular, the parties exchanged views on cooperation in the field of biometric identification, modern forensic technologies, police aviation, and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.

During the meeting, the support from the government and the Ministry of Public Security of China in strengthening the material and technical base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan was noted.

The role of the Innovative Educational Center of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan was emphasized separately. According to the ministry, the center will be important for training specialists with modern knowledge and skills for the law enforcement sphere.

Following the talks, the parties outlined further tasks for developing cooperation in the agreed areas. The visit took place at the invitation of the Minister of Public Security of the People's Republic of China.
