Uzbekistan and China agreed to expand inter-party and inter-parliamentary ties

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Liu Haixing discussed the development of relations between Uzbekistan and China and agreed to prepare a roadmap for inter-party and inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Uzbekistan and China have decided to expand inter-party and inter-parliamentary ties

On September 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a Chinese delegation led by Liu Haixing, Head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare a joint "road map" for the development of inter-parliamentary and inter-party cooperation.

Liu Haixing conveyed greetings and best wishes to Shavkat Mirziyoyev from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The parties discussed the further expansion of multifaceted cooperation and practical interaction between the two countries in accordance with the agreements reached at the highest level.

During the talks, the high level of Uzbek-Chinese relations, characterized as an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership, was noted.

Special attention was paid to the development of economic ties. In recent years, the volumes of mutual trade and investment have been steadily increasing, and the number of joint projects and enterprises involving leading Chinese companies has been growing.

The parties also emphasized the need to further strengthen inter-parliamentary and inter-party contacts.

In addition, the meeting participants discussed cooperation in the field of higher and vocational education. In particular, the importance of opening branches of leading Chinese higher education institutions in Uzbekistan was noted.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to adopt a joint "road map" aimed at expanding inter-parliamentary and inter-party cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
