Leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan agree to accelerate joint projects

In Bishkek, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Pakistan reached an agreement to accelerate joint projects.

At the beginning of the talks, the head of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated Pakistan on assuming the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

It was emphasized that the historic visit to Islamabad in February of this year and high-level meetings have brought relations between the two countries to a new qualitative level.

During the conversation, issues of further expanding cooperation in the trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics sectors were discussed.

The meeting also paid attention to the issues of developing interregional cooperation and strengthening humanitarian ties. In particular, it was noted that preparations are underway to hold an Interregional Forum in Khiva this year and that it is planned to organize Days of Uzbek Culture and Cinema in Pakistan.

It was agreed to adopt a joint "roadmap" to accelerate projects in textiles, medicine, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and other key sectors.
