Uzbekistan and Bavaria discussed expanding economic cooperation
Uzbekistan and the German federal state of Bavaria reviewed prospects for expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as collaboration in the field of vocational education.
These topics became key during the visit of Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Germany, Dilshod Akhatov, to Bavaria, where he held meetings with representatives of the regional government, parliament, state agencies, and business circles.
In talks with the State Secretary at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, Tobias Gotthardt, the parties discussed opportunities to increase trade turnover, attract investment, and strengthen ties between enterprises on both sides.
Special attention was paid to the training of qualified personnel and employment opportunities for Uzbek specialists in Bavaria.
Participants also touched upon the prospects of joint projects in the fields of information technology, green economy, energy, transport, logistics, construction, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and mechanical engineering.
A separate topic was the "Bayern – Fit for Partnership" program, funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. It involves introducing foreign specialists and company managers to the technologies of German enterprises, advanced training, and the development of business contacts. The parties considered the possibility of organizing sector-specific delegations and exchanging experience within the framework of this program.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached to work on organizing business forums jointly with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Nuremberg and Regensburg. It is assumed that they will be dedicated to business cooperation, engineering sectors, specialist training, and new projects in vocational education.
At a meeting with the Ministerial Director of the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration, Gunnar Wiegand, the exchange of experience between relevant agencies, advanced training of specialists, and cooperation in the security sector were discussed.
The parties also considered traffic management issues and the possibility of holding friendly matches between youth football teams of Uzbekistan and Bavaria.
The ambassador held separate negotiations with representatives of the German hotel chain Motel One GmbH — Head of Finance and Investment Lukas Prinz and Head of Development Astrid Schafleitner.
The sides discussed the prospects of Motel One entering the market of Uzbekistan, potential investment projects, and training personnel for the hotel and service sectors. Options for employing Uzbek specialists in the chain's hotels in Germany were also considered. To further develop these initiatives, it was agreed to hold online negotiations and organize mutual visits.
The visit was aimed at developing interregional ties between Uzbekistan and Bavaria and promoting practical projects in the economic, educational, and humanitarian spheres.
