Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Bahromjon Aloyev met with Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Humayun Kobir, on October 18 on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The two sides talked about steps to broaden trade and economic relations, boost investment cooperation and strengthen ties between business communities.
They paid particular attention to ways of raising trade and attracting investment through direct contacts between entrepreneurs. A possible free trade agreement was among the topics discussed, with both sides noting its potential to improve market access and reinforce commercial ties.
The officials also looked at cooperation in air connectivity and tourism, along with ways to build direct business links between companies in the two countries.
They also exchanged views on current international issues, including the prospects for closer coordination within the United Nations, the OIC and other international organizations. The talks further covered cooperation on multilateral platforms and mutual support on matters of shared interest.
