Uzbekistan and Austria to expand cooperation in the field of medical technologies

Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria held a meeting with representatives of the Technopol Krems technology center and Cells+Tissuebank Austria. During the meeting, issues of cooperation in medical technologies, regenerative medicine, and the development of tissue banks were discussed.

Technopol Krems is a technology center that unites research and educational institutions, universities, and business representatives, operating in the fields of regenerative medicine, oncology, diagnostics, and medical technologies. Cells+Tissuebank Austria specializes in the collection, processing, and provision of allogeneic tissues for medical use, including working with the musculoskeletal system and human bone tissues.

The parties considered the issues of organizing internships and professional development programs for specialists, exchanging experts, conducting joint seminars and research, as well as studying Austrian experience in quality management and GMP standards.

The development of tissue banks, the introduction of modern methods for processing and storing biological materials, and the implementation of projects on medical devices, diagnostics, and other modern medical technologies were noted as promising areas of cooperation.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the Agency for Innovative Development, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics, medical higher education institutions, and Tashkent Pharma Park were mentioned as potential partners.

The parties agreed to continue contacts and establish direct cooperation between the relevant organizations. Technical consultations are planned to be held at the next stage to prepare specific joint projects.
