US President congratulates the people of Uzbekistan on Independence Day

US President Donald Trump congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the 35th anniversary of Independence Day. The presidential press service reported this on August 31.
The congratulatory message expressed sincere wishes on behalf of the American people to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan. It specifically noted the expanding strategic partnership between the United States and Uzbekistan.
"This glorious date is an important and timely opportunity to once again remember the rich history and high culture of Uzbekistan. As Uzbekistan implements important and targeted reforms, our strategic partnership is also consistently expanding and developing," the letter says.
Donald Trump noted that significant work has been done between the two countries over the past year to ensure border security, expand trade and investment, energy, and regional connectivity.
"The United States looks forward to further strengthening our bilateral relationship as we explore new avenues of cooperation. As you celebrate Independence Day, I extend my warmest wishes to you and the people of Uzbekistan," the letter read.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent a congratulatory letter on Independence Day.
