US Open-2026: Kamilla Rakhimova will face the world's number one

The US Open-2026 tournament, part of the "Grand Slam" series with a total prize fund of $ 108 million, is in full swing in New York. Uzbekistan's second-ranked tennis player Kamilla Rakhimova continues her successful participation in this prestigious tournament.

In the first round, in the 1/64 finals, Rakhimova defeated the 27th-ranked tennis player of the tournament, Czech Barbora Krejcikova, with a score of 7:6, 6:2. Later, in the 1/32 finals, she also showed a confident game. In a match that lasted only 65 minutes, Camilla easily defeated her closest pursuer in the WTA ranking, Spaniard Oksana Selehmeteva (93rd place), with a score of 6:3, 6:0.

During the match, Camilla (ranked 92nd in the WTA rankings) hit one ace and did not make a single double fault. It is noteworthy that this was the sixth meeting between the tennis players, and after this victory, Rakhimova restored the balance in their matches - 3:3.

Now the Uzbek tennis player will take the court in the 1/16 finals against the world number one tennis player - Arina Sobolenko from Belarus. Sobolenko defeated Russian Polina Yatchenko in the second round with a score of 6:1, 6:1.

The match between Camilla Rakhimova and Arina Sobolenko will start on September 4 at 20:00 Tashkent time. Before that, these tennis players met three times, and in all of them the Belarusian athlete came out on top.
