US dollar falls below UZS 11,800 mark

Uzbekistan’s official exchange rate for the US dollar has fallen below UZS 11,800 for the first time in three years, declining by more than UZS 153 against the soum over the past five days.

The value of the US dollar has dropped below the UZS 11,800 threshold.

Effective August 20, the Central Bank's updated exchange rates set the dollar at UZS 11,794.88, marking a decrease of UZS 25.52 from its prior valuation.

This is the first time in three years that the official dollar rate has dipped below the UZS 11,800 level.

Over the last five days, the American currency has depreciated by more than UZS 153 against the soum, and its value has fallen by UZS 230.45 since the start of the year.

Presently, commercial banks are purchasing dollars within the range of UZS 11,735 to UZS 11,820, and selling them for UZS 11,840 to UZS 11,875.
