Urgench Airport will be able to receive aircraft with a visibility of 300 meters

Following its modernization, Urgench Airport will be able to receive aircraft with a visibility of approximately 300 meters. This became known following a press tour of the airport, which was attended by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

As the director of Urgench Airport, Oybek Matkarimov, reported, the current minimum visibility for landing is about 750 meters.

"It is planned to install airfield ground lighting under the CAT-II category. This means that in foggy conditions, an aircraft will be able to land with visibility that is almost twice as poor," he said.

In addition, a new runway with a length of 3.3 thousand meters and four taxiways will be built here. According to preliminary data, the number of aircraft parking stands will increase from six to 18.

Also, as part of the reconstruction, Urgench Airport will be prepared to receive large wide-body aircraft, including the Boeing 747 and Airbus A350.
