Türkiye Extradites Wanted Fraud Suspect to Uzbekistan

Türkiye has extradited an Uzbek national wanted on fraud charges to Uzbekistan after detaining him following a 1.5-year international search.

Türkiye has extradited an Uzbek national, sought internationally on fraud charges, back to Uzbekistan, according to reports from law enforcement agencies.

The suspect, identified only by the initials A.A., faces accusations under Article 168 of Uzbekistan's Criminal Code. A.A. had been evading authorities in Türkiye for approximately 18 months following the issuance of an international warrant, until he was located and apprehended.

After all necessary protocols were observed, the individual was transferred into the custody of Uzbek officials.

The extradited suspect has since been handed over to the relevant authorities to undergo further investigation and legal proceedings.

Law enforcement agencies highlighted the continuous collaboration between Uzbekistan and Türkiye in their efforts to combat crime, conduct international searches, and facilitate the extradition of wanted individuals.
