Fraud Suspect Returned to Uzbekistan via Interpol

An Uzbek citizen wanted internationally on fraud charges has been returned to Uzbekistan through international police cooperation.

An Uzbek national, sought internationally for alleged fraud, has been repatriated to Uzbekistan through collaborative efforts with international police organizations, as announced by the National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The bureau stated that the operation was orchestrated by the National Central Bureau of Interpol, with direct involvement from a Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan representative stationed at the Republic's Consulate General in Dubai.

Interpol indicated that the individual, after allegedly committing the offenses, departed Uzbekistan and remained concealed abroad for an extended period, attempting to elude legal accountability.

Through the exchange of operational intelligence, collaboration with international counterparts, and search initiatives, law enforcement agencies successfully pinpointed the suspect's whereabouts.

Following the completion of requisite legal procedures, the individual was brought back to Uzbekistan to face criminal proceedings in accordance with national laws.

The National Central Bureau of Interpol highlighted that this incident underscores the efficacy of international cooperation via Interpol and the engagement with Ministry of Internal Affairs representatives overseas in identifying and returning individuals who are evading investigation and trial.

The agency affirmed its ongoing commitment to locating individuals on international wanted lists and facilitating their return to Uzbekistan.

According to the bureau, efforts to conceal oneself outside the country will not enable suspects to escape justice, owing to established international police cooperation frameworks.
