Two people are due in court following deaths in an arson attack

Four members of an English family died in the arson attack at a home in Waterford on Tuesday.

Two people arrested in connection with the blaze that killed four family members in Waterford have been charged by gardaí (Irish police).

Kim English, Philip English and two of their children — nine-year-old Jayden and 12-year-old Callum — died after their home in Birch Avenue was set alight on Tuesday.

Two other children who were in the house at the time were critically injured and taken to hospital in Crumlin in Dublin.

The suspects, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s, were arrested on Thursday and are due to appear in court in County Tipperary on Saturday afternoon.

They are expected to appear before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court at about 16:30 local time.
