In Tashkent, a citizen was detained with cannabis oil and psychoactive mushrooms, and coffee laced with sibutramine was seized.

Two attempts to smuggle illegal substances have been foiled in Tashkent.

According to the press service of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan, a 24-year-old resident of the Urtachirchik district, with a previous criminal record, was detained at Tashkent International Airport. According to investigators, he attempted to smuggle psychotropic substances disguised as food products from Bangkok. During a search, 978 grams of cannabis oil and approximately 500 grams of mushrooms containing a psychoactive substance were found and seized. According to the State Security Service, the detainee planned to sell the imported substances.

The second incident occurred in the Tashkent district, where a search of a Damas vehicle revealed 12,992 packages of coffee containing sibutramine. The goods belonged to two men, ages 39 and 37, residing in the Uchtepa and Altiarik districts of the Fergana region, respectively. According to the agency, they imported the products from a neighboring country for further sale in the Fergana region.

Criminal cases have been opened in both cases, and investigative actions are currently underway.
