A citizen tried to smuggle cannabis oil at the Tashkent airport. As a result of operational measures carried out in cooperation with the State Security Service (SSS) and Customs officers, products containing psychoactive and potent substances were detected.
During an operational measure carried out at the Tashkent International Airport, the luggage of a citizen flying from Bangkok to Tashkent was examined by an X-ray machine, and suspicious food products were found among the luggage, which were opened.
It turned out that this person, born in 2002, a resident of the Orta Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, with a previous conviction, brought 978 grams of cannabis oil and 500 grams of mushrooms containing psychoactive substances under the guise of various food products for the purpose of future sale.
In another case, when a Damas car traveling in the Tashkent region was stopped and inspected in the presence of witnesses, it was found that two people, residents of the Oltiariq and Uchkuprik districts of the Fergana region, born in 1987 and 1989, who were traveling as passengers, had 12,992 pieces of coffee products containing the powerful substance sibutramine in polyethylene bags, which were duly registered.
It turned out that they had imported these products from a neighboring republic and intended to sell them in the Fergana region in the future.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against the violators in both cases and investigations are underway.
Earlier, an attempt to import more than 34 kilograms of narcotics into Uzbekistan via transit routes from Thailand was uncovered. It intercepted drugs smuggled from Vietnam, South Korea, the UAE, and India upon arrival in Tashkent. The transnational criminal group was led by a person named Ramzan.
