Trump declares full-scale economic war against Iran

US President Donald Trump has announced the launch of an unprecedented economic pressure campaign against Iran, warning of "massive" sanctions against any country that supports Tehran or continues to trade and do business with it.

**Trump Declares Unprecedented Economic War on Iran**

US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday, August 20, the launch of a large-scale economic operation against the Islamic Republic of Iran. He wrote about this on his page on the social network Truth Social.

Trump said that this is "the most destructive economic operation ever carried out against a country" and means "economic warfare and isolation on an unprecedented scale."

The US leader also announced that tough measures will be taken against countries that support Iran or continue economic cooperation with it. According to him, such countries may face "massive" sanctions.

Trump also called on Washington's allies to join the economic pressure campaign against Tehran. "To isolate and defeat the Iranian threat, we need the support of all our allies," the US president said.

The United States has previously imposed sweeping sanctions on key sectors of Iran's economy, including its oil, shipping and financial sectors. One of Washington's main goals is to sharply reduce Tehran's revenues from energy exports.

The new measures announced by Trump could be a continuation of the pressure campaign under Operation Economic Wrath, which the United States announced in early April.

Meanwhile, some countries have also begun to take measures to limit economic ties with Iran. In particular, the United Arab Emirates announced on August 18 that it would suspend all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice. UAE officials explained this decision by claims that Tehran had launched two missiles in the direction of the country. According to the Emirates, the attack was intended to threaten maritime traffic. Iran, however, denied these accusations made by the UAE.
