Traffic order has changed at the Oktepa Square intersection.
New left-turn lanes have been created for vehicles at the Oktepa Square intersection in Tashkent. As a result, the distance drivers will have to travel will be reduced by about 600 meters, and travel time will be reduced by up to 10 minutes during rush hour.
A new order has been introduced at the Oktepa Square intersection to improve traffic flow. These changes are aimed at preventing traffic jams and reducing unnecessary distance.
Now, drivers moving from Lutfiy Street in the direction of Nurafshon and Seul Streets can turn left directly at the traffic light signal. Previously, to move in this direction, they had to go to Mukimiy Street and turn around from there.
A new left turn option has also been created for vehicles coming from Samarkand Darvoza Street. Previously, to move from this direction to Lutfiy and Mukimiy Streets, they had to go to Nurafshon Street and turn around. According to the new order, drivers can turn left directly at the traffic light signal and move towards Mukimiy and Lutfiy Streets.
As a result of these changes, the distance traveled by drivers has been reduced by about 600 meters. It is also planned to reduce traffic jams that occur during the turn on Nurafshon and Mukimiy streets. According to calculations, the new traffic pattern will reduce the time drivers spend on the road by up to 4 minutes during normal hours and up to 10 minutes during rush hour.
In order to ensure pedestrian safety and ease of movement, pedestrian crossings and pedestrian traffic lights have also been installed at the intersection.
