Novak did not disclose which refineries had been attacked. He stated that the strikes on oil refineries had resumed after a certain pause.
"There was a pause for a while, but today the attacks on oil refineries resumed," said the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.
Earlier, the Astra publication and Ukrainian monitoring channels, citing witnesses, reported that the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery in the Samara region had been struck. According to DW, the facility also produces jet fuel for the Russian army.
Residents of Novokuibyshevsk complained about the lack of an air-raid warning. Witnesses said that the warning from the governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, appeared almost two hours after the attack began.
At the time of the DW report's publication, the Ukrainian side had not officially commented on these strikes.
The Novokuibyshevsk plant is part of Rosneft's group of enterprises in Samara. Its annual refining capacity is nearly 8.8 million tons of oil. The facility produces more than 20 types of petroleum products.
The plant has been attacked before. According to Astra, as a result of strikes in April 2026, the operations of two primary oil refining units were temporarily suspended.
