Drones hit two oil plants in Russia
Ukrainian drones have attacked two oil refineries in southern Russia's Krasnodar Territory and Rostov Region. The attack in Krasnodar Territory killed two people and injured two others. In Rostov Region, the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery was damaged and temporarily suspended.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have carried out drone strikes on oil refining infrastructure in southern Russia. The attacks reportedly targeted the Afip refinery in Krasnodar Krai and the Novoshakhtinsk refinery in Rostov Region.
According to Ukrainian monitoring channels Exilenova+ and Supernova, as well as Astra, one of the main targets of the attack in Krasnodar Krai was the Afip refinery. This plant is one of the largest oil refineries in southern Russia.
According to reports, this is the fifth time since the beginning of 2026 that the Afip refinery has been attacked by Ukrainian drones. The plant was previously attacked on January 21, March 14, June 11 and July 14.
Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratev confirmed that drones had attacked the Seversky district. According to him, fragments of one of the downed drones fell on the territory of the Afipskaya railway station. Two people were killed and two others were injured as a result of the attack. The governor also reported that a fire had broken out "on the territory of an oil refinery." At least 10 private houses in the Afipsky settlement were damaged to varying degrees.
At the same time, Ukrainian drones also attacked a number of facilities in the Rostov region. According to the governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, the area was attacked by about 30 drones. Drones were recorded in the cities of Gukovo, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky and Novoshakhtinsky, as well as in the Kamensk, Tarasov and Rodionovo-Nesvetai districts.
Four private houses were damaged as a result of the attack in the city of Novoshakhtinsky. A forest fire broke out in the Kamensk district on an area of 4.5 hectares, and a dry grass fire burned in the Krasnosulinsk district. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties in these areas.
Later, the head of the Rostov region confirmed that the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery was also damaged in the strikes. The enterprise temporarily suspended its operations due to the damage.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that a total of "148 air targets" were destroyed overnight over Russian territory, the annexed Crimea, as well as the Black and Azov Seas.
