Three citizens suspected of drug trafficking were detained in Tashkent. During the operation, approximately 900 grams of mephedrone and hashish were seized, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.

One of the suspects, a 35-year-old man with a previous drug-related conviction, was stopped by law enforcement officers in the Tashkent district while driving a BYD. 200 grams of mephedrone were found inside his car. An additional 300 grams of the same substance were found during a search of his residence.

Two other suspects, men aged 34 and 36, one of whom also had a previous conviction for drug trafficking, were detained in the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent. A search of their vehicle revealed 400 grams of mephedrone and hashish.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two of those arrested had been distributing synthetic drugs for a year through a specialized Telegram store. The agency did not specify the exact ratio of mephedrone to hashish in the 400 grams seized.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against all those arrested under Article 273, Part 6, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which provides for liability for the illegal trafficking of narcotics on an especially large scale.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges citizens to report any suspicious activity related to drug trafficking using the agency's Telegram bot or hotlines.

Earlier, a man was arrested in the Andijan region for attempting to sell more than 11 kilograms of marijuana. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the deal was planned for a cemetery, and he sought buyers through social media. A criminal case has also been opened for this incident, carrying a prison sentence of 15 to 20 years.
