“This woman is a savage” – In Qoshtepa, a head nurse stabbed 4 subordinates
On September 7, Odina Imomova, the head nurse of the pediatric emergency department of the Qoshtepa District Medical Association in Fergana Region, called 4 employees working under her into her office, locked the door from the inside, and attacked them with a knife. A cleaning lady, who was stabbed in the heart area, died at the scene. Another nurse was stabbed in 5 places on her body, while the remaining two nurses sustained bodily injuries of varying severity.
One person died at the scene, and three employees remained with bodily injuries of varying severity, with one of them in serious condition.
According to investigations, the head nurse Odina Imomova, who committed the murder, was divorced from both of her marriages and had an elderly mother and a son. Even before this incident, she had served a prison sentence for stabbing another citizen and was reinstated to her job at the Qoshtepa District Medical Association. Before the murder took place, she had secured a loan in her name to buy a house and forced the stabbed nurses to sign a guarantor agreement.
She used to wait at the ATM for her salary to be deposited...
My spouse, Lolaxon Ismoilova, was stabbed in five places and is lying in intensive care. She underwent surgery twice. Everyone at the workplace was fed up with the behavior of the head nurse, Odina Imomova, who committed the murder. If she called my spouse, even if it was a day off, she would immediately rush to her side out of fear, no matter where she was.
When I asked, “Where are you coming from?”, she would often say, “Odinaxon and I went here and there, if she orders me to do something, I have to go with her, you know how shameless she is, she won't leave me alone otherwise, I had to go.” She had always put pressure on her workers. My daughter also works there. She was also threatening my daughter. On that day, she had called my daughter to her office as well; she survived because she did not go.
The head nurse has a son and an elderly mother. My wife also used to go to take care of that elderly mother. She would force her to help... In short, everyone was afraid of her.
On that day, saying “I will give each of you 200 dollars,” she took the nurses into her office and locked the door from the inside. First, she stabbed my spouse in the head area. Then she struck her neck. When she tried to escape, she stabbed her again from behind. While she was opening the door, she stabbed her from behind once more. When she was resisting with her hands, she also struck her hands. My spouse was trying to open the door and run out.
She stabbed Hayotxon Najmiddinova, who worked as a cleaning lady, in the heart. She died at the scene. She chased after the nurses who were trying to escape the room and stabbed them. My spouse, covered in blood, tried to climb to the upper floor...
After doing the deed, the head nurse washed her blood-stained hands, got into a minibus as if nothing had happened, and disappeared from the scene...
Before this incident, the head nurse Odina had already been imprisoned for stabbing someone. I wonder how such a mentally unstable woman is working in the medical field...
That killer woman forced my spouse and three or four other nurses working there to become guarantors to get a loan for a house. Because my spouse was a guarantor, on the day her salary was deposited, she would be anxious and spend the day at the ATM so that the money would not be withdrawn from her card. My spouse was working under pressure and in fear.
If that woman called, my spouse's face would suddenly change color, and she would get scared. When I asked, “Who is she to you? Why are you afraid?”, she would say, “Whatever she is, she is our boss.” Most terribly, she called Hayotxon, the cleaning lady whom she killed by stabbing her in the heart, from her home to her office despite it being a day off. My daughter also works in that very department. It turns out she had called my daughter that day too. She did not go because her mother-in-law did not agree. My daughter escaped death,” says Valijon Mamadaliyev, the spouse of the nurse Lolaxon Ismoilova, who remains in intensive care.
Valijon Mamadaliyev also stated that his daughter-in-law worked as a nurse in the department where the murder took place, and that Odina Imomova would often gather her subordinates and say that she would retire in October, and before leaving her job, she would “dry out” the department and then leave.
The nurse was not registered in the psychiatric department
“The nurse who committed the murder had been working in our hospital for almost 30 years. Previously, no unpleasant incidents involving this woman had been observed. We conduct medical examinations of employees once a year. According to the results of the examination, all staff were concluded to be healthy. The head nurse was also not registered with our doctor dealing with mental illnesses.
On that day, when I entered the department after hearing about the incident, the rooms were open. They were carrying out the victims. The nurse who committed the murder had fled outside. They caught her immediately,” says Xurshid Teshaboyev, Deputy Head of the Qoshtepa District Medical Association for Treatment Affairs.
According to Baxtiyor Abbosov, a psychiatrist at the Qoshtepa District Multidisciplinary Policlinic, the head nurse Odina Imomova did not have a mental illness. She had never applied with complaints about her health.
One of the nurses is in the intensive care unit, the condition of two nurses is satisfactory...
“On September 7, at around 16:30, three patients with injuries from a sharp object arrived at our department. The condition of two patients was satisfactory, of moderate severity. First aid was provided to the patients, primary surgical treatment was performed, and they were transferred to the surgical department.
One of our patients was taken to the operating room due to the need for urgent treatment. After the operation, we transferred the patient to the intensive care unit. Currently, the patient's condition is satisfactory, of moderate severity, which corresponds to the performed operation and the severity of the diagnosis.
As for the two nurses whose condition is satisfactory, the knife hit the left breast of one of the nurses, but did not penetrate the chest cavity. The second is a bodily injury inflicted on the back of the left chest, a bodily injury inflicted by a sharp object. It is also a bodily injury that did not penetrate the chest cavity. We performed primary surgical treatment, currently the patients are receiving antibiotics and the necessary treatment. The patient lying in intensive care sustained injuries to the back of the left chest cavity and the lower left lower back. Operative treatment was performed. Post-operative conditions correspond to the severity of the diagnosis,” says Ikromjon Mamatov, head of the surgery department of the Qoshtepa District Medical Association.
Regarding the situation, a criminal case has been initiated by the Qoshtepa District Prosecutor's Office under the relevant paragraphs of part two of Article 97 of the Criminal Code (intentional homicide). Odina Imomova has been taken into custody as a preventive measure.
