From January to July 2026, 529 industrial accidents were recorded in Uzbekistan, injuring 580 people. According to the State Labor Inspectorate, almost one in four of those injured died.
Of the total number of incidents, 24 were group accidents, 372 resulted in serious consequences, and 132 were fatal. A total of 580 people sustained injuries of varying severity: 146 died, 402 suffered serious injuries, and 22 suffered minor injuries.
The greatest number of tragedies occurred in the industrial and construction sectors, where 168 and 159 incidents were recorded, respectively. There were 22 accidents in trade and services, 20 in transportation and logistics, and 16 in healthcare. Agriculture and water management recorded 15 incidents, education 14, and public administration 8. Four more incidents occurred in law enforcement, three in information technology, and two in culture and sports. Ninety-eight incidents were recorded in other sectors.
Approximately 11.4 billion soums were paid to injured workers and the families of the deceased during this period. These funds were provided as both one-time payments and monthly compensation.
