Industry accounts for the largest number of accidents in Uzbekistan
In the first seven months of this year, 529 industrial and other work-related accidents occurred in Uzbekistan, killing 156 people. Another 424 workers sustained injuries of varying severity, according to data from the Labor Inspectorate.
The industrial sector leads in the number of accidents in Uzbekistan.
A total of 580 people were injured, 402 of whom were seriously injured and 22 were slightly injured. Twenty-four incidents were classified as group accidents.
Of the 529 recorded incidents, 372 were classified as serious accidents, and 132 were fatal.
By region, the largest number of incidents was recorded in Tashkent (95). It is followed by Kashkadarya Region (38), Bukhara Region (34), Samarkand Region (33), Navoi Region (31), Fergana Region (23), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (20), Syrdarya Region (19), Namangan Region (18), Jizzakh and Surkhandarya Regions (16 each), and Khorezm Region (13).
By sector, the largest number of incidents was recorded in industry (168), and construction (159). Twenty-two cases were recorded in trade and services, 20 in transport and logistics, 16 in healthcare, 15 in agriculture and water management, 14 in education, 8 in public administration, 4 in law enforcement, 3 in information technology, and 3 in culture. and sports - 2. Another 98 cases were attributed to other industries.
