156 people died in seven months due to work accidents

156 people died in workplace accidents in seven months.

In the first seven months of 2026, the number of work-related accidents in Uzbekistan reached 529.

According to the State Labor Inspectorate, 24 of these accidents were recorded in the activities of groups of workers. 372 cases had serious consequences, and 132 accidents ended in death. A total of 580 people were injured as a result of workplace accidents. Of these, 156 died, 402 people received serious injuries, and 22 people received minor injuries.

The largest number of accidents was observed in the industrial sector - 168. 159 accidents occurred in the construction sector. 16 such cases were recorded in the healthcare sector, 14 in the education sector, and 8 in public administration.

By region, the largest number of accidents occurred in Tashkent city (95) and Tashkent region (58). 38 such incidents were recorded in Kashkadarya region, 34 in Bukhara, and 33 in Andijan and Samarkand.

A lump sum and monthly compensation of 11 billion 379 million soums was collected from those injured in accidents.

An accident at work is an incident related to the harm to the health of an employee while performing his labor duties. This does not necessarily have to occur only on the territory of the enterprise.
