“There is a discrepancy between the reports of ministries and departments and the real situation on the ground” — Bobur Bekmurodov
As MP and leader of the “Yuksalish” movement Bobur Bekmurodov said at a press conference in Tashkent on August 21, some reports of state organizations on the implementation of the “Uzbekistan 2030” strategy differ from the real situation in the regions.
According to a “Daryo” correspondent, the dialogue discussed the results achieved by the strategy in the first half of 2026. In his speech, Bobur Bekmurodov noted that the implementation of the document is being constantly monitored.
The “Yuksalish” movement is conducting public surveys. Because it may have been reported that the tasks were completed very well. But how did this affect people? Did this change or the achieved result really change people's opinions in a positive direction? We will study this. Of course, we are seeing many positive changes in the implementation of the strategy. However, from the public's point of view, I would also like to talk about some shortcomings,” the deputy said.
According to Bobur Bekmurodov, the main problem is related to the discrepancies between the real situation and the report.
“There is a difference between the official report of ministries and departments and the real changes on the ground. We constantly present this to the parliament and the government. Another problem is that ministries and departments do not provide sufficient information and reports to the public. Due to objective reasons, the deadlines for the implementation of a task may change. In such cases, ministries and departments, khokimiyats do not inform the public in a timely manner. As a result, we read messages that the task should have been completed in such and such a month last year, but it has not been completed yet. That is, the government, ministries and departments should work more consistently on the issue of accountability and information to the public,” said the chairman of the “Yuksalish” movement.
Bobur Bekmurodov also touched upon the situation in school libraries in the regions.
“In some such regions, schools do not have even one book per student. However, according to world standards, one student should have at least four to eight books. But we have districts and regions in such a difficult situation. For example, in the Vobkent district, there is not even a light in the school library. The existing computers were given to other purposes. For example, they were given to the school management, not to the library. There are many similar examples,” said the deputy.
At a previous press conference, the Minister of Justice said that the implementation of the “Uzbekistan 2030” strategy would be strictly monitored.
