The Zhyidakapa water intake facility was reconstructed in the Namangan region.
Following reconstruction, the capacity of the Zhyidakapa water intake facility in the Uychinsky district of the Namangan region has been increased to 180,000 cubic meters of water per day.
A large-scale reconstruction of the Zhydakapa water intake complex, located in the Uychi district, has been completed in the Namangan region. According to the press service of the Namangan regional administration, the facility was commissioned following the modernization, and its water intake and supply capacity has nearly doubled, reaching 180,000 cubic meters per day.
The grand opening of the renovated facility took place on the eve of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's state independence. The ceremony was attended by Namangan regional khokim Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, deputy chairman of the board of JSC "O'zsuvta'minot" Komilbek Yusupov, as well as representatives of relevant organizations, elders, and the public.
The reconstruction of Zhydakapa was carried out as part of a project implemented with the participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, using advanced technologies. As a result of the work, the facility's previous capacity of 90,000-100,000 cubic meters of water per day now reaches approximately 180,000 cubic meters.
New energy-efficient motors and pumps were installed at the facility. Furthermore, a digital SCADA control and monitoring system was implemented, enabling the monitoring of all processes using modern technological solutions.
The Zhyidakapa water intake plays a key role in Namangan's drinking water supply system, supplying approximately 60-65% of the city's population. Therefore, the reconstruction is aimed not only at increasing production capacity but also at improving the stability and reliability of the city's drinking water supply.
During the ceremony, industry representatives and aksakals (elders) symbolically launched the reconstructed facility. Participants were provided with detailed information about the technical specifications of the facility, its operation, and the operating principles of the new SCADA system.
Speaking at the event, Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, khokim of the Namangan region, emphasized the importance of developing the region's infrastructure and improving the public's drinking water supply. He also discussed ongoing work in the region, taking into account the opportunities being created and the funds allocated.
After all work was completed, the Zhyidakapa water intake and supply facility resumed operations with significantly upgraded technical capabilities.
