Bayern Munich and England national team striker Harry Kane said that the timing of the Ballon d'Or presentation is inconvenient.

On September 8, France Football magazine announced the list of nominees for the 2026 Ballon d'Or. The award ceremony will take place on October 26 in London.

"Undoubtedly, the Ballon d'Or has become an increasingly important award in recent years, mainly due to social media, the hype, and the conversations surrounding it.

In my opinion, the timing of the Ballon d'Or presentation is inconveniently chosen, because the new season has already started and you are focused on what you can achieve this season. But after every game, you have to think about what you achieved last year. It's hard to understand. But winning the Ballon d'Or would be an amazing thing.

Other nominees giving more interviews on this topic certainly influences public opinion and the debates surrounding it. But the jury members probably do not act based on that. I think they vote for whoever they believe is deserving.

Last season, Kane scored 73 goals in all competitions."
