Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given his opinion on who should win the 2026 Ballon d'Or.

"Harry Kane is absolutely deserving. His results, his goals, his consistency and how much he strengthens the team - in my opinion, these should be the main criteria for awarding the Ballon d'Or. He has just played an incredible game. If you ask me, the Ballon d'Or should definitely go to Harry Kane," Guardiola said in an interview with Sky Sports.

For your information, Kane scored 61 goals in 51 official matches for Bayern last season. The English striker also made a significant contribution to the victory of the Munich club in the Bundesliga and the German Cup. The footballer also won the bronze medal at the World Cup with the English national team.

This year's Ballon d'Or ceremony will be of particular historical significance. France Football and UEFA organizers have decided to hold the ceremony outside of Paris for the first time in 70 years. The event, which will be held on October 26, will be hosted by London as a symbol of respect for the first winner of the prize, the legendary Englishman Sir Stanley Matthews.

We recall that last year, this prestigious award was won by PSG and France national team striker Ousmane Dembele.
