The liquefied gas supply system to the population will be reorganized

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the presentation of proposals for reforming the system of supplying liquefied gas to the population.

Liquefied gas is of great importance in providing an energy source to the population living in areas where the natural gas network does not reach. Therefore, its timely, safe, and stable delivery is directly related to people's daily lives, the activities of social sector facilities, and living conditions in the regions.

The presentation analyzed the balance of liquefied gas resources and distribution, the current delivery system, pricing, subsidies, and their impact on the population.

According to the data, about 3.8 million residents and nearly 2,000 social sector facilities are supplied with liquefied gas in the republic. This year, it is planned to deliver 604.8 thousand tons of liquefied gas for the needs of the population and social sector facilities.

It was noted that a number of problems persist in the current system. In some regions, liquefied gas does not reach consumers within the specified timeframe. As a result, the population is forced to purchase their additional needs from gas filling stations at market prices.

According to the analysis, the share of consumers receiving liquefied gas in a period exceeding 46 days is 22 percent. In such a situation, the monthly expenses of some families are several times higher than the currently established price.

According to the current procedure, liquefied gas is delivered to the population and social sector facilities at subsidized prices. At the same time, the gap between production, import, purchase, and delivery costs is increasing year by year, and the need for subsidies allocated from the budget is growing.

The head of state emphasized that the interests of the population must be the primary priority in this matter. It was noted that liquefied gas must reach people on time, disruptions in supply must not be allowed, and families in need of social protection must be supported.

For this purpose, proposals have been developed for the gradual reform of the liquefied gas supply system.

In order to reorganize the system of delivering liquefied gas to the population, it is proposed to establish the "LPG-Trade" limited liability company under the founders of "Hududgaztaminot". This structure will purchase liquefied gas through the exchange and deliver it to people in accordance with the established procedure.
