According to the National Statistics Committee, in the first half of 2026, the information and communications technology (ICT) sector contributed 2.9% to Uzbekistan's gross domestic product. This represents an increase from 2.8% in the same period of the previous year.
It is noted that in the same period of 2024, the contribution of ICT services to GDP was 2.4%. This represents an increase of 0.5 percentage points over two years.
In the first six months of 2026, the gross value added generated by ICT services reached 30.3 trillion soums.
Computer programming, consulting, and related services lead this gross value added, accounting for 53.6%.
Communication services account for 28.9% of the total gross value added created in the sector. Data hosting and processing services, as well as web portal operations, account for another 10.5%.
Software accounted for 4.4%, while computer and communications equipment repair services accounted for 2.6%.
Thus, from January to June 2026, the bulk of gross value added in Uzbekistan's ICT sector was generated by computer programming, consulting and related services, and communications services.
