Uzbekistan’s IT service exports climb nearly sixfold to $545mn since 2022
Uzbekistan's exports of IT services have surged to $545.3 million in the first half of 2026, marking a nearly sixfold increase since 2022, according to UzA. This represents a rise of $61.8 million, or 12.8%, compared to the same period in 2025.
This continued expansion follows several years of significant growth in the nation's IT service exports. In the initial six months of 2022, these exports stood at $92.6 million. This figure then climbed to $159.4 million in the corresponding period of 2023, reaching $281 million in 2024. By January–June 2025, IT service exports had further increased to $483.4 million, before reaching the current $545.3 million in the first half of 2026.
Overall, Uzbekistan's IT service exports experienced a substantial increase of $452.7 million between the first halves of 2022 and 2026. The 2026 total is approximately 5.9 times greater than the level recorded four years prior. Year-on-year growth was particularly robust between 2022 and 2025. In 2023, IT service exports grew by approximately 72% compared to the first half of 2022. This growth accelerated to around 76% in 2024, when exports hit $281 million.
During the first half of 2025, exports saw another increase of approximately 72%, reaching $483.4 million. While growth moderated in 2026 to a 12.8% year-on-year increase, Uzbekistan still exported an additional $61.8 million in IT services during January–June 2026 compared to the same period a year earlier. These figures indicate that the sector continued to expand from a considerably higher base after several years of rapid development.
The data encompasses exports of telecommunications, computer, and information technology services. Unlike traditional merchandise exports, these services can generally be delivered across borders without the need for physical goods transportation. The broader IT services sector includes activities such as software development, IT outsourcing, cloud-based services, technical support, and digital design, enabling companies and specialists in Uzbekistan to provide remote services to international clients.
