The service sector accounted for nearly 68% of Tashkent's GRP in the first half of 2026

According to the results of the first half of 2026, the share of services in the structure of the gross regional product (GRP) of Tashkent reached 67.9%. According to data presented by the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, this is the highest figure in the entire country.

The services sector accounted for nearly 68% of Tashkent's GRP in the first half of 2026

The capital's GRP volume for January–June of the current year reached 226 trillion soums, which is 13.3% higher than the figure for the same period last year. As a result, Tashkent accounted for 21.1% of Uzbekistan's total GDP — the highest figure in the republic.

In the sectoral structure of the capital's economy, industry accounted for 20.1%, and construction for 12%.

Investment activity deserves special attention. As of August 1, 2026, there were 20,973 active enterprises and organizations with foreign capital participation in Uzbekistan. At the same time, Tashkent remains the absolute leader in their concentration, with 13,114 such companies registered. In the adjacent Tashkent region, their number stood at 2,901.

According to the capital's khokimiyat, in the first half of the year, Tashkent utilized 4.3 billion US dollars in foreign direct investment and loans — 1.5 times more than in the same period of 2025.
