The Senate Approved the Constitutional Law on the Presidential Administration

At its 18th plenary session, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved the Constitutional Law "On the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan." This law is intended to define the legal status, key tasks, structure, and operating procedures of the Presidential Administration, according to the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the debate, it was emphasized that the updated version of the Constitution laid the foundation for the creation of an effective system of public administration and governance. This system is based on national and universal values, as well as the historical experience of the development of Uzbek statehood. Individual chapters of the Constitution now enshrine the principles of the activities of the Oliy Majlis, the President, the Cabinet of Ministers, and local government bodies.

The senators recalled that Chapter XIX of the Constitution is dedicated to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who, as head of state, ensures the smooth functioning and interaction of all government bodies. The Constitution also provides that the President forms the Presidential Administration and appoints its head to provide organizational, legal, and analytical support for his or her powers, while its legal status is determined by a separate law.

Developed on the basis of the Constitution, this Constitutional Law establishes the status of the Presidential Administration, the basic principles of its work, its structure, the procedures for organizing its activities, the mechanisms for interaction with government agencies and organizations, and guarantees for the activities of its management, officials, and employees.

Furthermore, the document establishes the legal basis for the Presidential Administration's interaction with government agencies and organizations.

In preparing the bill, the experience of a number of foreign countries, including the United States, Finland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Latvia, Kazakhstan, and others, was carefully studied and analyzed.

According to the senators, the adoption of the Constitutional Law will contribute to the improvement of legal mechanisms for supporting the President's activities in the organizational, legal, and analytical spheres, strengthening interaction between government agencies, and increasing the effectiveness of public administration.

Following the discussion, the Constitutional Law was approved by the Senate.
