On behalf of the Romanian Embassy in Tashkent and myself, I sincerely congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on their National Holiday—the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan! Over the years of independence, Uzbekistan has achieved impressive success and earned a worthy place on the global stage.

I recall with great pleasure the past public diplomacy events of the Romanian Embassy in Tashkent dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On the eve of the 32nd anniversary of the country's independence, I recorded a congratulatory video message on the Pulatkhan plateau (2,823 meters); on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of independence, I conquered the Hazrat Sultan peak (4,083 meters) in the Kashkadarya region; and on the eve of the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, I climbed the Greater Chimgan (3,309 meters). These events in various corners of Uzbekistan have become a symbol of respect, friendship, and admiration for the beauty and spirit of your wonderful country. I am delighted that these symbolic moments resonated with many Uzbeks.

It is a great honor for me to be awarded the "35th Anniversary of the Uzbek Republic" commemorative badge, established by the Presidential Decree. I view this award as a sign of high trust and an incentive for further fruitful work. I would like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan for creating favorable conditions for the successful fulfillment of my mandate. I am sincerely pleased to have the opportunity to carry out my professional activities in this beautiful country. During my time here, I have become convinced that the Republic of Uzbekistan's greatest asset is not natural resources such as gold or cotton, but its remarkable citizens.

Cooperation between Romania and Uzbekistan is successfully developing in all areas. We maintain an active political and diplomatic dialogue based on trust and mutual respect. On October 6, 2025, Romania and Uzbekistan celebrated the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. I am very pleased that data published by the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan shows a significant increase in trade between Romania and Uzbekistan in recent years. Strengthening cooperation with Uzbekistan is among Romania's priority interests in Central Asia. I look to the future with great optimism!

I congratulate all citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Independence Day! I wish you peace, prosperity, good health, and success in realizing all your noble aspirations!

With deep respect and best wishes,

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Republic of Uzbekistan Daniel Cristian Ciobanu
