In Kyrgyzstan, an "Arashan" breed ram was sold for $1 million. The deal took place during a festival dedicated to the development of this breed. A new McLaren Senna costs approximately the same.
Farmers from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan participated in the event. According to the department, it was at the festival that the animal was sold for a record price for this breed. It is not reported which country the citizen who made such an expensive purchase is from.
The ram turned out to be the son of the famous Frankel
As claimed, the sold ram is the son of Frankel, one of the famous representatives of the "Arashan" breed. In 2023, Frankel was sold to Kazakhstan for $150,000. He himself was raised on the Talas jailoo (pastures).
The "Arashan" breed was officially registered in Kyrgyzstan in 2021. Interest in the breed is shown not only by Kyrgyz livestock breeders, but also by representatives of neighboring countries, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Breeding pedigree animals is considered a separate area of agricultural business.
