It has been reported that Uzbekistan is expressing interest in importing grain and pedigree cattle from Russia.
On September 11, a meeting was held in Moscow between the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhabov and the Director General of the STEP Agroholding Andrey Neduzhko.
One of the main topics at the meeting was the proposal to import 7,000 head of Holstein pedigree cattle to Uzbekistan annually. It is planned to distribute them to families in local neighborhoods (mahallas). It is noted that cows of this breed can yield up to 40 liters of milk per day or even more.
This initiative will contribute to the development of family entrepreneurship, create a stable source of income for the population, and help families lift themselves out of poverty.
Additionally, due to the high harvest in Russia, the delivery of 500,000 tons of wheat to Uzbekistan via the Caspian Sea was also discussed. For this purpose, it is planned to use the ports of Astrakhan and Makhachkala.
Another priority area was the localization of dairy and confectionery production. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop specific mechanisms for the implementation of joint projects.
