Russian agro-holding may start importing 7,000 cows to Uzbekistan annually

A meeting was held in Moscow between the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhabov, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Steppe" agro-holding, Ali Uzdenov.

The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the agro-industrial sector of Uzbekistan, including the localization of dairy and confectionery production.

It was proposed to import 7,000 head of pedigree Holstein dairy cattle to Uzbekistan annually and distribute them among families in the mahallas of the country's regions. Cows of this breed are characterized by high productivity and, in some cases, yield more than 40 liters of milk per day.

This project is expected to help develop family entrepreneurship, create sustainable sources of income for the population, and contribute to lifting families out of poverty.

In addition, the meeting participants also discussed the possibility of supplying 500,000 tons of wheat to Uzbekistan via the Caspian Sea, against the backdrop of a high grain harvest in Russia this year.

In particular, issues of organizing logistical routes using the ports of Astrakhan and Makhachkala were considered.
