Uzbekistan became the largest buyer of Kyrgyz honey

Kyrgyzstan earned more than $660,000 from natural honey exports in the first six months of 2026, with Uzbekistan becoming the largest buyer of this product. This was reported by 24.kg, citing data from the National Statistics Committee.
In January-June, the country earned a net profit of $661.6 thousand from honey trade. A total of 189.1 tons of honey were exported during this period. The main buyers of Kyrgyz honey are:
* Uzbekistan — 103.3 tons (worth $88.2 thousand);
* Japan — 21.1 tons (worth $205.2 thousand);
* China — 35.9 tons (worth $195.7 thousand);
* United Arab Emirates — 9.4 tons (worth $41.5 thousand);
* Qatar — 6.5 tons (worth $28.6 thousand).
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan itself purchased only $1.2 thousand worth of honey from abroad in the first half of 2026. This product was imported from New Zealand ($1.1 thousand) and Russia ($0.1 thousand).
Recall that in 2023, a preliminary contract was signed for the supply of Kyrgyz honey to Tashkent. In addition to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan sells its honey to 25 more countries of the world. Currently, honey is being exported from Kyrgyzstan to China, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Russia.
