The procedure for investigating workplace accidents has been established
By Resolution No. 505 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 22, 2026, the procedure for reporting, investigating, and recording accidents related to labor activity was approved.
According to the regulation, in the event of an accident, the employer must immediately provide first aid to the victim and, if necessary, transport them to a medical facility.
The employer must also notify the relevant authorities and organizations, as well as the victim's relatives. The victim or a witness must immediately report the occurrence of the accident to the head of the department, i.e., the workshop.
The head of the workshop provides first aid and organizes the transport of the victim to the medical-sanitary unit or another medical facility.
In addition, until the special investigation commission begins its work, the situation at the workplace and the state of the equipment must be preserved as they were at the time of the incident.
The head of the workshop must immediately report the accident to the employer and the trade union or other representative body of employees.
Group accidents, i.e., incidents occurring with two or more employees at the same time, are subject to a special investigation. In this case, the investigation is conducted regardless of the severity of the damage caused to the health of the victims.
Accidents with moderately severe or severe consequences are also subject to a special investigation. The same procedure applies to fatal incidents.
At the same time, natural death, suicide, intentional self-harm by the victim, as well as injuries sustained during the commission of a crime, are not investigated or recorded.
