On Friday evening, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, took a walk along one of the renovated streets of Nukus.
As reported by the press service of the head of state, sections of three central streets — Garezsizlik, Sabir Kamalov, and Gulhan Sherazieva — with a total length of 2.5 km, were landscaped here.
As part of the project worth 2.2 billion soums, a convenient environment for pedestrians was created: wide sidewalks, lighting, benches, and trash bins were installed, and plants were planted. A 1.5 km long drainage network was also rebuilt.
The report notes that entrepreneurial activity has intensified on these streets — new shops, service outlets, and catering establishments have opened, while existing ones have expanded their operations.
He asked if they liked the renovated street. The residents responded positively. The head of state wished them all the best.
"Thank you very much, dear President! We love you!" one woman shouted. "Thank you! I love you very much too," Shavkat Mirziyoyev replied.
A group of young people also performed Ozodbek Nazarbekov's song "Mendirman" about loyalty to the Motherland on the guitar. The President applauded and thanked them.
