The President got acquainted with the improvement works in Olmazor district
The changes in the Qichqiriq neighborhood are also serving as an example for other neighborhoods in the capital.
President Visited Landscaping Works in Olmazor District
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the landscaping works carried out and the conditions created for residents in the Qichqiriq neighborhood of the capital's Olmazor district.
There are 23 multi-story buildings in this neighborhood, which was established more than thirty years ago. Over 5,400 residents live in 1,416 apartments.
Thanks to the changes implemented on the basis of the President's resolution "On additional measures for landscaping, greening, and radically improving the appearance of neighborhoods" dated June 25, 2024, the neighborhood has taken on a completely new look today.
71.4 billion soums were allocated from the local budget for this project within the framework of the "Obod Mahalla" (Prosperous Neighborhood) state program. As a result, the area has turned into a real ecological neighborhood embodying a modern "green" urban planning environment.
One of the most important innovations was the promenade built along the Qichqiriq canal. Its length is 2.4 kilometers. The waterfront area has been turned into a cozy and clean place where residents can relax day and night.
A 12.4-kilometer-long pedestrian path was laid here, and an additional green area was created. A magnificent terrace over the water reservoir, 14 pavilions, a waterwheel, and fountains were built.
Today, about 6.5 thousand ornamental and fruit trees are being cared for in the neighborhood. The exterior appearance of the residential buildings has also been updated. Hundreds of benches and lighting lamps were installed for residents' relaxation.
All conditions have also been created here for young people. 12 workout areas and 3 football fields were built, and libraries were put into use.
Entrepreneurship is also developing rapidly, with 47 business entities operating. 61 new jobs were created through new projects.
Right there, the Head of State gave instructions to officials on ensuring employment and working with poverty.
A unique system in this direction is also being established in the Qichqiriq neighborhood.
