President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev came forward with an initiative to start cooperation between the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and third countries.

"The organization's authority in the international arena depends, among other things, on its ability to develop open and mutually beneficial relations with external partners. For these purposes, I propose starting cooperation with third countries in the 'Organization of Turkic States Plus' format with meetings of sectoral ministers," Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated at the OTS summit in Ankara on October 30.

According to the president, such meetings should be oriented toward implementing joint projects in trade, transport, investments, and other priority areas.

The head of state noted that Uzbekistan views the OTS, which is transforming into an influential center of global development, as a platform for mutual trust and practical partnership.

"We need to unite even more closely around our strategic goals and jointly promote common interests in the international arena. We are united on this noble path and are ready to mobilize our forces in the name of Turkic solidarity," he said.

The president also emphasized the importance of regular political consultations on international and regional issues within the framework of the organization, as well as the coordination of approaches and efforts.
