President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which took place on October 30 in Ankara. The head of state presented several initiatives aimed at deepening economic, political, transport, and humanitarian cooperation among the member countries of the organization.

The summit was held under the motto "The Turkic Century: Unity in Language, Thought, and Action." The event was also attended by the presidents of Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan, a representative of Azerbaijan, and the Secretary General of the OTS.

In his speech, Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan for organizing the summit and emphasized the importance of preserving the shared historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples.

The head of Uzbekistan noted that against the backdrop of intensifying geopolitical competition and ongoing armed conflicts, it is necessary to strengthen the unity of the Organization of Turkic States, develop mutual trust, and move to practical cooperation.

During his speech, Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward a number of specific initiatives:

"Organization of Turkic States Plus" — launching a format of cooperation with third countries, featuring meetings of sectoral ministers to implement joint projects.

"Turkic World - 100" Program — implementing 100 strategic investment and industrial projects, including the processing of rare minerals and the localization of green energy equipment.

Legal protection of business — drafting a multilateral agreement on mutual legal assistance in commercial matters and creating a digital platform for document exchange.

Development of transport logistics — establishing a Network of Logistics Complexes of Turkic States to transform the Middle Corridor into a unified economic system.

Tourism cooperation — creating a Turkic Tourism Alliance and simplifying mutual travel for citizens, including the use of ID cards.

Educational opportunities — annually allocating grants to representatives of Turkic states under the "Yangi O'zbekiston" program for international students.

Preservation of shared linguistic heritage — compiling a "Dictionary of Common Turkic Words," including vocabulary understandable to representatives of different Turkic peoples.

The President of Uzbekistan specially thanked the member countries of the organization for supporting the initiative to declare 2027 the Year of Nature Protection.

In addition, the Alisher Navoi International Prize was presented at the summit to Kazakh cultural and art figure Dyusen Kaseinov.

Following the event, the participants supported the candidacy of the representative of Uzbekistan, Mirvokhid Azimov, for the position of Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States.

It was also decided to hold the next summit of the organization in Uzbekistan in 2027.

Following the meeting, the Ankara Declaration was signed, and a number of documents aimed at further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation among the participating states were adopted.

The put-forward initiatives cover key areas of interaction — from the economy, investments, and transport corridors to education, tourism, and the preservation of shared cultural heritage.
