The "New Agronomist" and "Master-Apprentice" systems will be introduced in cotton cultivation
Now, advanced farmers will mentor low-yielding farms, and rewards will be established for them
The "New Agronomist" and "Master-Apprentice" systems will be introduced in cotton cultivation
In accordance with Resolution No. 513 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 24, 2026, it has been established to train "new agronomists" with skills in cultivating cotton and grain based on new agrotechnologies, and to establish "master-apprentice" systems.
Within the framework of the "New Agronomist" system, 2nd and 3rd-year students studying in relevant fields at the Tashkent State Agrarian University and other higher education organizations training specialists in the field of agriculture will be involved in internships on a competitive basis.
The selection process will be held at least once a year in higher education organizations. Students who complete the internship with excellent grades will be selected by a special commission and sent to foreign countries to study advanced foreign experience.
Within the framework of the "Master-Apprentice" system, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regional khokimiyats will invite advanced agro-clusters and farms obtaining cotton yields higher than 50–60 centners per hectare to participate in the selection as "masters".
Up to 20 farms with cotton yields below 30 centners per hectare will be attached as "apprentices" to each selected "master" agro-cluster or farm.
At the end of the harvest year, if the "apprentice" farm achieves a cotton yield higher than 50 centners per hectare, the agro-cluster or farm that mentored it will receive a reward of 5 million soums for each "apprentice".
Activities within the "Master-Apprentice" framework will be monitored through the "Digital Agriculture" unified integration platform of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Additionally, the registry of agro-clusters and farms selected as "masters", as well as the "apprentice" farms attached to them, will be maintained by the Ministry of Agriculture.
