Below are the most attractive sectors of the Uzbek economy for investment.

According to Podrobno.uz news agency, in the first half of 2026, Uzbekistan's economy and social sector attracted 338.9 trillion soums in investment, a 17.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The main sectors for investors were industry, agriculture, and construction.

According to the National Statistics Committee, industry leads in investment volume, receiving 100.5 trillion soums. Next came agriculture, forestry, and fisheries with 32.9 trillion soums, and construction with 32.5 trillion soums.

Significant investments were also directed toward the production and distribution of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning (29.9 trillion soums), housing construction (27.3 trillion soums), and mining (21.8 trillion soums).

The transportation and storage sectors attracted 16.3 trillion soums, while wholesale and retail trade, as well as automobile and motorcycle repair, attracted 13.7 trillion soums.

7.4 trillion soums were invested in the development of water supply, sanitation, and waste collection and recycling. Education received 7.2 trillion soums, information and communications 5.8 trillion soums, and accommodation and food services 5.6 trillion soums.

Professional, scientific, and technical activities, as well as healthcare and social services, attracted 4.6 trillion soums. Financial and insurance activities received 2.4 trillion soums, and arts, entertainment, and recreation 2 trillion soums. The remaining 24.4 trillion soums were distributed among other sectors.

Uzbekistan previously ranked first in the world for venture capital investment growth rates. Over the past year, the amount of funding raised by startups has increased by 539.7%, which is the highest figure among all countries.
