Migration agency helped Uzbeks recover 850 thousand dollars of unpaid wages abroad
In the nine months of 2026, the Migration Agency assisted citizens of Uzbekistan in recovering 850 thousand dollars in unpaid wages and compensation abroad, as well as in getting back 532 passports and identity cards withheld by employers and intermediaries.
The largest number of appeals regarding unpaid wages and compensation came from Russia — 533 cases. 155 cases were recorded in Turkey, 92 in South Korea, and another 37 in other countries.
The withholding of documents by employers and intermediaries remains a separate issue. The agency helped return passports and identity cards to 532 citizens. There were 331 such cases in Russia, 185 in Turkey, 11 in Kazakhstan, and five in South Korea.
Problems with salaries, documents, or employment abroad can be reported via the short number 1282 or through the Telegram bot @huquqiy_yordam_uzbot. Appeals are accepted around the clock.
Previously, the Migration Agency signed an agreement with a major American recruiting company. The document provides for the training and employment of citizens of Uzbekistan in seasonal agricultural work in the US under the H-2A program.
