The legal status of the Accreditation Center has been established
The status, main tasks and functions, as well as the procedure for organizing the activities of the state institution "Accreditation Center of Uzbekistan" under the Cabinet of Ministers have been established. The Center implements a unified state policy in the field of accreditation of conformity assessment bodies.
The legal status of the Accreditation Center has been established
By Decision No. 460 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 4, 2026, the regulation "On the State Institution 'Uzbekistan Accreditation Center' under the Cabinet of Ministers" was approved.
This regulation defines the legal status, main tasks and functions, rights, and the procedure for organizing the activities of the state institution "Uzbekistan Accreditation Center".
According to the document, implementing a unified state policy in the field of accreditation of conformity assessment bodies is designated as one of the main tasks of the Center.
Additionally, the Accreditation Center actively cooperates with international and national accreditation bodies. The introduction of international standards and technical regulations into the field is also included among its main tasks.
The regulation also grants a number of rights to the Accreditation Center to perform the tasks and functions assigned to it.
In particular, the Center may, in accordance with the established procedure, coordinate the activities of republican executive authorities, economic associations, and local executive authorities on matters within its competence.
Furthermore, the Center will have the right to obtain necessary statistical information from statistical bodies free of charge on matters within its competence.
The activities of the Accreditation Center are led by a director.
According to the regulation, the director of the Center is appointed to and dismissed from office by the Cabinet of Ministers in agreement with the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure.
Thus, the new regulation has defined the status, powers, and management mechanism of the Accreditation Center within the state administration system.
